Each month our school recognizes students who demonstrate the strength of a certain character trait. Throughout each month we will be discussing that month's trait and the actions and behaviors associated with it. The students will have an opportunity to nominate their classmates each month. Please take time to discuss these with your child. The following is a description of each month’s trait.

September - Responsibility

Responsibility is a willingness to be accountable for your own actions without blaming others.

October - Respect

Respect is showing regard for self, others, property, and those in authority.

November - Leadership

Leadership is inspiring others to excel by the courage of your example.

December - Trustworthiness

Keeping your word, doing what's right for yourself and others.

January -  Fairness

Fairness is playing by the rules.

February - Caring

Caring is sharing and valuing each others' feelings.

March - Honesty

Honesty is the willingness to say openly what is known to be true.

April - Tolerance

Tolerance is respecting our differences.

May - Attitude

Attitude is feelings or emotions you have about people, things, or events in your life.

June - Good Citizenship

• Care about your community, state
• Improve something in your home or neighborhood
• Take the time to learn about how your government works
• Involve yourself by becoming a leader at school
• Zero in on something that needs fixing and work with others to do the job
• Encourage your parents and other adults you know to vote
• Never forget to show respect for people, animals, plants, and property
