Kindergarten

I've taught school since 1970, all but one year in Sunnyvale in kindergarten. I taught bilingual kindergarten when it was a District funded program and then the Federal program when the District was no longer able to fund their own. Before coming to Sunnyvale I taught seventh grade Spanish in a northern California rural community. I have two credentials and a B.A. from Chico State and an M.A. in bilingual-bicultural education from Stanford. While I was a student at Chico I studied in Spain for a year with the California State Colleges International Programs.

I've taught in five schools in the District and Cherry Chase is my favorite. I especially enjoy the cultural diversity here and the enthusiasm of our neighborhood.

One of the reasons I enjoy teaching kindergarten is the eagerness of the children and the joy they express when they accomplish a task that was a challenge.

I am married and I have two step-children my husband and I raised together. We also have two foreign exchange student "children," one in Denmark and one in Germany.
