The Cherry Chase Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is part of the Cupertino Fremont-Sunnyvale Council and is organized under the authority of the California State PTA for the purpose of enhancing our children's education and home life by encouraging parent involvement, offering parent education, and forming a partnership with the local school site to support the educational program.

The PTA consists of an active group of parents and teachers whose goal is to enrich the lives of all of the students at Cherry Chase. The PTA helps manage and fund fantastic programs at Cherry Chase including in-class music and art, FAME, after-school band and violin, a reading lab, math lab, computer lab and much more. We sponsor one major fundraiser (Walk-A-Thon) and several other revenue-generating activities throughout the year (Fall Festival, Sally Foster gift wrap sales) so that we may supplement the educational opportunities available for all Cherry Chase students. We also manage the eScrip program for the Cherry Chase community.

Direct Appeal 2009-2010

In 2009-2010, the PTA and School Site Council are continuing the Direct Appeal program. Our goal is to provide a direct and easy way for parents to contribute and reduce much of the peripheral fundraising activities. Thus, we are asking parents to write a check directly to Cherry Chase PTA. Calling All Volunteers!

The Volunteer Committee Descriptions document (download PDF or download MS Word) provides further details about each PTA committee. Please complete a Committee Evaluation Form (download PDF or download MS WORD) to report on the status of your committee's work this year. Please fill out a form after your event is completed or at the end of the year for year-long assignments. (Completed forms should be turned into the Volunteer Coordinator's box in the office). The Cherry Chase PTA has created a Volunteer T-shirt.  We encourage volunteers for PTA events such as Fall Festival and Walk-A-Thon to wear these shirts.  They are generally sold at PTA events, or you can place an order and your shirt will be delivered to your child's teacher.

PTA Meetings

General Associating meetings are usually held the 3rd Tuesday of each month. PTA Membership is available at any time throughout the school year, with our regular Membership Drive kick-off at the beginning of the school year.
