I was born and raised in Kent, Ohio and come from a family of teachers. I knew early on that I wanted to be a teacher. I went to Kent State University where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Education. Then I began teaching in the Woodridge Local School District where I taught third and fourth grade for five years. In 2004 I decided to follow in my sisters footsteps and moved to California. I taught fifth grade for a year in Santa Clara Unified Schools and joined the wonderful Cherry Chase community in 2005.
When I am not teaching, I keep myself busy with many hobbies. I enjoy running, skiing, crocheting, reading and traveling. I spend my summers working with middle school and high school students at an accelerated learning program called SuperCamp.
