The garden area located in front of the 2nd grade classrooms facing Heatherstone is currently hosting our World Garden. Each of the small raised beds located within the low fence have been planted by 2nd graders as part of their Fall 2007 curriculum. As indicated by the name, each bed represents a collection of plants which originate from a specfic region of the world. In addition to the educational value of such a layout the garden is very colurful. Below you will find a section on each of the regions represented in the garden which includes a photo and list of plant varieties found in the bed. The following regions of the world are represented: | Africa | Asia | Europe | | North America | South Africa | |
The ongoing goal is to have each set of 2nd grade classes replant the beds in the Fall and enjoy the garden through the spring. If you have plants which you would like to see represented in one of the beds please let us know; donations are always welcome. Plants in African bed
