Jean Duperrault Second Grade I was born and raised in Wisconsin and went to college in Illinois. My BA degree was in Sociology and Art History. I’ve had a number of careers between college and teaching in Sunnyvale. After college, I worked in radio broadcasting in Boston, MA. I was fortunate to have traveled and studied abroad in college (throughout Europe and Mexico) and have continued my travels and interest in other cultures. After Boston, I taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in Taiwan to 3-13 year olds and traveled to different Pacific Rim countries before returning to the US and moving to California’s Bay Area. I went back to school to get my teaching credential in 1997 and have been teaching in Sunnyvale since. I taught 3rd and 4th grades at Vargas, ESL as a special assignment for the district one year at Cumberland, and since joining Cherry Chase in 2003 I have taught first and second grade. Most recently, in 2009, I recieved a masters in Education Leadership from San Jose State University. This is a great school with a dedicated staff and a pro-active, supportive team of parents. It is wonderful to be a part of this school community.
