Classroom Rules and Management My classroom management and discipline is a process that will be evolving with the students this year. It will change depending on what works for them, you, and me. This is the structure that we have in order as of now: Classroom Rules These are the rules we came up with together: - Respect property and people
- Be safe
- Listen and follow directions
- Have fun
Table Points Table points are earned through table cooperation. If they are ready to go and organized or working well together they may earn points (or have them taken away if the opposite is true). All of these points are added together at the end of the week and they become class points. The class may then vote on an activity that they would like to buy. At the beginning of the year, they brainstormed on what rewards they wanted. | No Homework Day | 200 points | | Movie and Popcorn (no butter) | 200 points | | Prize Day | 175 points | | Extra Computer Lab Time | 175 points | | Origami | 175 points | | Toy Day | 150 points | | Stuffed Animal Day | 150 points | | Pajama Day | 150 points |
Tickets When students are displaying behavior that is above and beyond the norm, they will have the opportunity to earn tickets. These tickets go into a raffle and every Friday two winners are pulled. The winners are able to select a prize from the prize box (If you have anything you would like to donate to the prize box, it will be much appreciated). Hands and Feet If a student is off task or talking to a neighbor, they will be asked to get a red hand or foot. This is a reminder to stay on task. If a student receives more than 5 in a week, they may not participate in that week's raffle. If they receive more than 10 in a week, they will need to go on an indvidual behavior contract. Students who exhibit excellent behavior earn a green hand or foot. This will earn them tickets to use in the weekly raffle. All students need to have their parents sign their hands and feet sheets. This tells me that you have seen it. I want to make sure I am communicating what is happening at school.
